Home Energy Efficiency Workshop - Belper

  • Strutts Community Centre Derby Road Belper, England, DE56 1UU United Kingdom (map)

Want to reduce your heating bills, cut your carbon emissions, and stay warmer at home, but don't quite know where to start? Come along to the Strutts Centre, Belper, for local and innovative in-person advice. We have a short-term project called the 'Heat-Hub' - offering support to home-owners to understand their options and get a chance to meet experts.

Free Home Energy Plans - Eligible* households can apply for an in-depth energy survey tailored to their property. Find out how this could help you avoid pitfalls and make sensible improvements. (Available for a limited time only!)

*Available to residents with homes that meet one or more of the following :

  • not connected to the gas network

  • in a conservation area

  • energy inefficient and therefore expensive and hard to heat (Energy Performance Certificate Bands D to G).

A short presentation will be followed by the opportunity to speak to a range of experts one-to-one, including an energy assessor; air-source heat pump, solar panel and insulation installers; a planning officer (to be confirmed); and home owners who have experiences to share.

The event is being organised by specialist energy advice charity, Marches Energy Agency (MEA), supported by Transition Belper and Amber Valley Borough Council.

Peter Burgess-Allen from Marches Energy Agency said “We hope residents will join us to learn about what they can do in their home to save energy. For anyone wanting to improve their insulation, install an air source heat pump or solar panels, or wondering what can safely be done with an older building, this is a great opportunity to access free support and advice from experts, available for a limited number of home owners across Derbyshire.”
